Unexpected Delights - Christ Powered Revival: CPR for the Spirit

Daily Delight

God's word says "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4) What is delight? The dictionary defines it this way:a high degree of pleasure or enjoyment; joy; rapture.
His precious word is our way to delight in Him, daily a verse will be featured to consider and meditate upon. You are encouraged to get out that book of books and go beyond the one verse. May the words become more than words on a page, may they become the very breath of life to you...

"God is Love." 1 John 4:1

Contentment

"Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out of it."
1 Timothy 6:6,7

The Truth

Two other men, both criminals, were also led out to be executed....One of the criminals that hung there hurled insults at Jesus: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"

But the other criminal rebuked him."Don't you fear God,since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly. But this man has done nothing wrong."

Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."

Jesus answered him, " I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." Luke 23:32,39-43

The truth is some are clawing at heavens gates in desperation with ridiculous demands and no sense of remorse what so ever while others admit their guilt and humbly ask,"Jesus, remember me."

The truth is we all will enter into eternity. There is no escaping death for it has been appointed for man to die once. At any moment we can be taken. Which thief will you identify with in that moment?

Make Room

Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. Isaiah 54:2

Make room for the Lord your God in every area of your life. Lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes for El Shadday. For He is mighty and grand in every way. Worthy to be  praised. Enlarge your heart & mind with kingdom thoughts.  Renew your spirit and stand firm for Your Father knows your needs and wants to bless you...

Read Job chapters 38-42 Today

Lord, I thank you for the knowledge that even in the midst of a storm you are there with as answer. I thank you that you have blessed me with  knowing that you can do all things and that no plan of yours will be thwarted. Forgive me when I question you on things that are too grand for me to understand and too wonderful for me to know. In Jesus Name...

Celebration of One Soul

...Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate.
Luke 15:23-24

O' Lord, how you love to celebrate a soul that has moved from death into life eternal. A soul that has been born again. Thank you for the feast and for the clebration.....

Fuel To The Fire

Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down. Proverbs 26:20

Lord, when I am tempted to add more fuel to the fire of a quarrel, help me to STOP. May my communication be gentle when dealing with a quarrelsome heart. Help me to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. In Christ name ...

Smile Often

A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones. Proverbs 15:30

Lord, I want to always have a healthy cheerful outlook on life. When I pass by others may they see the joy I have in you through the smile that I wear and the words that I speak. If I am tempted into negativity, could you gently remind me that this is bad for my health as well as for those around me. Thank you Lord for a beautiful smile and a happy heart. In Jesus name....

God's Will For You

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Lord, you are my hearts desire. In all that I do I want to please you. Awaken me to the freshness of your love and your desire for my life. May I exercise a joyful spirit at all times, connect with you in Holy conversation continually & always remember to give thanks in all circumstances for I know all things work together for the good of God to those who are called according to Your purpose. Your will for us is not hidden, it is plain to see. Thank you for eyes that see.. In Christ name I pray...Amen

Divine Constant Conversation

"Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long."
Psalm 119:97

Your Word, O Lord, is eternal, it stands firm in the heavens. Help us daily, Lord, to be firmly grounded in your word. May our hearts yearn for a continual constant connection to you through your word so that we may grow strong and healthy inside and out. Teach us to be still so that we may hear as  you reveal the deep and hidden things to your servants through quiet reflection. May we find freedom, peace and joy during our time of holy conversation with You.
In Jesus name...

The Lit Path

Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105

Are you consulting with the map that consistently lights the path? We often think we know what is best for us and which way we should go. Why is that? Why is man so headstrong about asking for directions? The Lord God Almighty is our creator, He knows the way, He knew the plan for each of us even before He formed us in the womb, all we have to do is consult the directions he has left for us in His precious word and follow.

                          God's Plans

"...the Lord detests a perverse man but takes the upright into His confidence." Proverbs 3:32

"Surely the Lord does nothing without revealing His plans to His servants the prophets."  Amos 3:7

His servants are keenly aware of His activity. Are your spiritual eyes and ears open to the grand things God is sharing with His servants? If you are void of seeing and hearing the things of God, is there something in your life that is hindering you and separating you from Him?

**************************************************

Showers of Blessings

"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields, seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:10-11

Every time it rains, I think of this scripture and it delights my heart and soul. I love when it rains simply because of this scripture. His word is a shower of blessings. The heart and soul is a garden thirsting for His rain. His word is always available, don't allow your heart and soul to suffer a drought. May God achieve His desire and purpose through you today.

We are the Tools

Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? Or shall the saw exalt itself against the one who saws with it? As if a rod could wield itself against those who lift it up, or as if a staff could lift up, as if it were not wood!
Isaiah 10:15

God is in control, we are tools in His hands. He is God we are not....

***************************************************

Deadly Poison
"All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison." James 3:7-8

"My dear brothers, take note of this: everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." James 1:19

Do not allow yourself to poison the atmosphere with an unruly tongue... Through prayer and the power of the Holy Ghost, submit your tongue to God today... It can be tamed, but not by man....

Positive Words of Faith

"It is written, I believed, therefore I have spoken; with that same spirit of faith we also believed, therefore we also speak." 2 Corinthians 4:13

Do you know that the words you speak into the atmosphere are powerful? Do you realize the words that you speak bring forth what you believe whether positive or negative? It has never been a secret that words came first as God spoke creation into existence. Align yourself with His word and speak it daily into and around your life. There are so many powerful positive scriptures to speak into the atmosphere. " Let us hold fast the confession of our faith without wavering..." Hebrews 10:23 Confess the promises of God into your life. Do not be snared by the words of your mouth (negative faith). Confess that you are a new creation in Christ, confess that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. If you want to walk with God, you have to agree with God. Agree, confess that you are what his word says you are as a child of the living God...

Loyal Determined Love

"O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life,  my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you." Psalm 63:1-5

This is a psalm of David when he was in the desert of Judah.
Even in a dry and weary land he expresses his joy in knowing the almighty and is determined to praise God throughout his life
regardless of the circumstances. He had experienced Gods power, God's glory and God's everlasting love. We are profoundly effected when we experience God's power, glory, and love. One can not help but want to praise him. It bubbles up out of us like streams of living water...

***************************************************
Living Water

"Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."
John 7:38

We can not physically go without drinking water and survive. The majority of the composition of our bodies is water. Likewise our spiritual body also thirsts and requires drink. Christ invites those who are spiritually thirsty to come to him and drink. Are you thirsty today? Have you accepted his invitation? Have you drank from the fountain of life? Are streams of living water flowing from within you?
Don't let your spiritual body thirst to death....come to Christ and drink....

**************************************************

Steeping

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..."
Colossians 3:16

The water from a tea bag is infiltrated with the aromas, colors and taste of the tea bag. Think of us as the water and Christ as the tea bag. The longer we let His word steep within us, the more we become like Him, taking on His attributes.
May you be infiltrated and richly steeped in Christ's word today and always....

Lamp of The Lord
The lamp of the Lord searches the spirit of a man; it searches out his inmost being. Proverbs 20:27

Lord, in the darkest corners of my soul, shine your brilliant light, that any ungodly thing hiding there may be brought into your cleansing light.  May your holy fire burn up anything that is against your will that has tried to lay root within my spirit, mind or body.
In Jesus name. Selah....

Conquerors In Christ
"I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor Depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

"We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." My God, how blessed and powerful we are in His strength.... If you have not read Romans chapter 8 yet, read through it today dear one.

**************************************************

A Hope & A Future

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3

"For I know the plans I have for you,"declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

The Lord wants to give us a hope and a future. Think about that for a moment, isn't that one of the grandest things you have ever heard, that the Lord God has in His plans to give you a hope and a future? Take time today to think about your plans. Have you committed them to the Lord? Do they align with God's word? Is the Lord your delight? As you move forward in your plans, are you working at whatever you do with your whole heart as working for the Lord and not for man? (Colossians 3:23) God Bless your Plans today dear one....

God's Love

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:1

There is a tugging on my heart strings today to encourage you to read the 8th chapter of Romans today. Don't stop at this one verse. Hear what the Lord is speaking through the apostle Paul. God bless your spirit today with a fresh new revelation from Him...

Fragrant Aroma

"Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumpful procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of His knowledge. For we are to God the Aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. "
2 Corinthians 2:14-15

Are you allowing God to spread the fragrance of his knowledge through you?

Godliness

Physical training is of some value, but Godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
1 Timothy 4:8

Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing  out of it.
1  Timothy 6:6-7

What is Godliness? Characteristics of God (Christ likeness)which are found in His people. The closer our relationship with Christ, the more we know Him, the more we know Him, the more we become like Him, the more we become like Him, the more content we are. Being content in Godliness is of the greatest value, nothing in this world can compare.

The Road Less Traveled

"Small is the Gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only few find it."
Mathew 7:14

Show me your ways,O Lord, that I may walk on the road less traveled and enter through the small gate.

The Mediator

There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5

Beyond all question, the mystery of Godliness is Great:
He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world , was taken up in glory. 1 Timothy 3:16

Praise God for our Mediator!!!

***************************************************

Things Unseen

Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God  must believe the He is , and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

We can not see the wind, but we know it is there by the activity it causes. Trees blowing , kites flying, boats sailing, wind mills turning....Fix your eyes on God and you will become aware of His divine activity.

********************************************************

God Hears

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he will hear us. And if we know he hears us- whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15

Psalm 37:4 tells us to delight ourselves in the Lord and he will give us the desires of our hearts. When the Lord is our delight, his desires become our desires. When our hearts mesh with his, it his will and his desires that delight us. Prayers are answered according to his will. Do you see that as you loose yourself in the Lord, you want what he wants? His very will becomes what you want. It is like a husband and wife who are deeply committed to one another and have the same goals, there hearts have meshed and they are moving in the same direction. All relationship require effort and most of all trust. "Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding" proverbs 3:5. Trust in the Lord and deep fellowship with him causes us to adjust our ways to his and we are delighted to respond to his promptings. We obtain a level of confidence that is grounded in his will.....

**************************************************

Lifetime Favor

His anger lasts only for a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5
Favored one, with the rising of the sun, rejoice this morning that God is merciful. What a great delight to know that even when we stumble, his favor/loving kindness continues to cover us a lifetime. O' how I praise him for his tender mercies and loving kindness and for the rising and setting of the sun each day......

***************************************************

Hearing then Doing

Faith comes through hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17

As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. James 2:26

Our faith is built by hearing the word of God and that requires us to wait with patience as we listen. After we hear, it is time to act according to his word and will. Hearing his word then doing/applying his word go hand in hand.

May your faith be alive and vibrant today and always.

**********************************************************

Drive thru or Wait

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14

Waiting is a difficult thing for todays society. This is a fast pace world and it often seems time is spinning out of control. People are in a hurry to do, do , do... We need to just be, be ,be sometimes... Family dinner time is unheard of these days because of the convenience and quickness of a drive thru window... When we seek the Lord during our time of prayer we are building and strengthening our relationship with him, this requires us to just be, it requires us to wait with patience... it is a time where we must throw away the drive-thru window mentality and sit at his table with an open heart and WAIT....
***************************************************

Noble Character

Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11

Do you receive the message of the gospel with great eagerness? Do you examine the scriptures daily to see if what your being taught by others aligns with the word of God? The Bereans set an incredible example for us. It is our responsibility not only to receive the message of Christ with great eagerness but also to continually examine the scriptures.

May you be consumed with  noble character today and always.
**************************************************

Chosen

"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit- fruit that will last, then the Father will give you whatever you ask for in my name."
John 15:16

"the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22

Praise God today for being chosen to bear fruit....
**************************************************

Set Apart

"Know that the Lord has set apart the Godly for himself; the Lord will hear when I call to him"
Psalm 4:3

How glorious, how wonderful to know that those who walk in Godliness have been set apart for God himself. God delights in and responds quickly to the calls of the Godly. Before the petition leaves the lips of the Godly, he has already released a messenger. Praise God !!!
